Spaghetti Birds

Warm up your vocals with a round of singing slide. Sing a party plan with our echo song. Name some sounds. And then take some time for yourself, because you deserve it.

Singing Slide is based on a vocal warm up game that music teachers like to play with their students. Kids mimic a slide whistle which gets them singing in their head voices and exploring their vocal range. It gives me the opportunity to record myself playing slide whistle which always comes as a surprise to my neighbors. ✪

Party Time! This echo song about planning a party has an animal themed twist. Speaking of which animal themed twist would make for a great kids party theme. Giraffe Limbo etc. Echo songs are a great way for kids to learn melodies, build their melodic vocabularies and tune their sense of pitch. Huzzah! ✪

Mystery sounds abound in this round of Name That Sound. Our very own Noodle Loaf game show announcer will guide you through the process of identifying some old-timey sounds. Unclog your ears for some close listening and a little bit of learning about technology from days gone by. ✪

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson for kids you can listen to without needing a jukebox and a quarter.

Kangaroo Water Park

If you like smoothies then you'll love this new episode of Noodle Loaf. It's got mangoes (rhythm games), bananas (singing) and freshly squeezed orange juice (mad-lib style story games). Press play and take a gulp!

Our Clap It Back game gives you and your family a chance to learn rhythmic phrases. Syllables, cadence, rhythm, tempo, beat...so many skills to glean from this game. It also incorporates a technique used in music classrooms and pedagogies like the Suzuki method. Things get tricky as the game goes on, so hold on to your smoothies! ✪

This Echo Song doesn't have a lot of words. Some songs don't need a lot of words to do what they need to do. Other songs (like Hurricane by Bob Dylan) need a ton of words. This is not that. The name of this song is "Sister Oh Sister" and it is meant to evoke feelings about the people in your life, after all. ✪

We recently found a half filled book of Mad-Libs on a neighbors' stoop. We had a lot of fun with it and it was exciting to see how different another families brand of hijinks felt in comparison to our own. This game is similar. It is called You Make The Story and your job is to add your own words to help tell the story. In this case you are opening up a pizzeria. Good luck with your new pizzeria endeavor! ✪

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson for kids you can slurp up like a smoothie but without the brain freeze.

Don’t Forget Goofin’

Songs about robots, subways and feeling grateful for scientists! This episode has the very special guest, Tracy Bonham & Melodeon Music House, plus lots of learning about music through play.

First Up, Time To Move - Dance Robot Dance. Pretend you are a robot that has two settings. Setting 1: when you hear music you do your best robot dance. Setting 2: When the music stops you shape your body like the thing that I say. i.e. grapes. This is a fun creative movement game that promotes body awareness, smiles and dancing to a song about robots. ✪

Counting the silence. Kids love counting. Grown-ups love silence. This game has something for everyone! ✪

All you have to do during a Story Song is sit back and enjoy the song. This song is about feeling grateful for all the people big and small who have helped their communities get through this past year, and especially everyone involved in the vaccine roll-out from the scientists to the people who rolled up their sleeves to stop Covid's spread. You can hear this song wherever music streamed including Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/2FIyQU8vHnG2dPXPpOx5e7?si=N26FtAfoTgCBFtgRDkJJGQ

This episode's Echo Song is provided by the wonderful musician and music educator Tracy Bonham & Melodeon Music House. The song is called Let's Take The Subway. It's a fun children's song for learning about letters, pitch matching, song form and that famous New York City rat race. You can find it on her new album Young Maestro's Vol. 1: https://open.spotify.com/album/0Kn0cPtHeY3cMYIv626LTH?si=pA-xbY3ZRGO6ZbaEQqSpRw

Dinosaurs and Dumplings

Music and learning, singing and goofing. Enter here for children's songs about dinosaurs and dumplings. But fair warning, you may be asked to rhyme something with "Cilantro." If you're comfortable with that possibility then press play on this educational podcast for kids and enjoy.

We begin with a rhyming game. Freshen up phonological awareness, fine tune your flow and polish your poetry with this edition of Rhyme Time. Our categories this go round are fancy colors, types of dumplings, herbs, handicrafts and kinds of trucks. Watch out for the extra hard herbal bonus round!

This week's echo song is about a lonesome dinosaur. Why won't anyone play with the T. Rex? Is it because he'll eat them? This Echo Song explores themes of h̶u̶m̶a̶n̶ dinosaur nature while developing a child's sense of pitch and humor. It's music for kids that dinosaurs will love too.

We haven't had a Vocal Jam in a while which means it's time for a vocal jam. Think of it as an instant a cappella group but better because the group is your family and instead of pop songs you're just saying names of dumplings. This is a great intro to harmony and part singing for kids and is also great as a family singalong. Learn the parts and perform it next time you're at a dumplings shop! Great idea!

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson for kids you can listen to during tea time.

Feeling For Mangoes

Press play and brace yourself for some music games, a song about fruits and April Fools jokes aplenty. We'll play a drawing game called Guided Doodling where you will doodle a mystery drawing based on the narrated instructions. Will it be an octopus? Probably not, but maybe? A little more details on the various music activities beloooooow:

Finish The Pattern - Our pattern recognition game teams up with solfege for some real live music game fun. Fair warning, there are animal sounds and some amateur beatboxing. ✪

Echo Song - Mango Season - Our repeat after me style sing along song is all about some of our favorite fruits! Mangoes, watermelons and strawberries. A fun fact about this upbeat children's song is that you can insert whatever your favorite fruits or veggies are. If you love kohlrabi then you would just sing "Wake Me Up When Its Kohlrabi Season." This is a no judgement zone. You do you. ✪

Guided Doodle - Get yourself a pencil and paper, we are going to draw together. Noodle Loaf provides the classical music of Vivaldi and some instructions on how to draw a mystery drawing. You do your best to draw what we describe. There's a good chance you will draw something other than what we are imagining, but that's ok. The important thing is we are hanging out, listening to calm music and drawing together. ✪

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson for kids you can listen to in your sleep. April Fools! Awake is better.

Special Drums Special Rhythms

Fun. Fun Music. Fun Music For Kids. Fun Music For Kids And Their Grown Growns. Fun Music For Kids And Their Grown Growns That Involves Saying The Names of Birds Wrong. i.e. Curdnal.

Pretty Birdies - Echo Song - A repeat after me song about different birds! But we're not just singing bird names over here, we are singing them incorrectly because that's something we like to do. I don't know if your kids will learn about birds by singing along but there's a chance they'll develop their senses of pitch and rhythm.

Learn About Tablas with Sufyan - Noodlino Sufyan is a 7 year old from Brooklyn, NY who has been studying how to play the tabla. He tells us a little about the instrument and demonstrates a couple bols (rhythmic sequences) that he has learned. He is cool. Tablas are cool. You are cool.

Clap It Back - In this rhythm game about drums of the world, we clap back the rhythms of phrases describing various world drums over Sufyan's tablatastic grooves. It's a bit of music appreciation mixed with some drumming fundamentals.

KaraYOUke - If your child has been waiting patiently for someone to ask them to write a song about donkey teeth, then they need wait no more! This game asks you and your children to write your owns based on prompts you hear. We provide the music and the prompts, your family writes the songs. It's a songwriting lesson and a mad-lib but more fun than either one by itself.

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson but it's free and you don't have to drive to it.

Time to Move - a creative movement activity practicing flow and weight, age appropriate for all kids. ✪

Pedal On!

We continue celebrating Black History Month on our kids podcast by channeling the great tradition of Civil Rights songs, with a song about James Baldwin for kids and a song about the Black sports hero Major Taylor. Hooray for fun music for kids about inspiring Black figures! Both of these songs appear on our new Black History EP called "Oh Let Us Sing!" which features five children’s songs about five inspiring historical Black figures.

Playground Game - The episode begins with the classic playground sing along song for kids, Pizza Pizza Daddy-O. We do our own spin on this creative movement game for our kids podcast but you're encouraged to search online for the old school version. ✪

Echo Song - Then we help children develop pitch and singing confidence with our original echo song, one of a few of our Black History songs for kids, James Baldwin Used His Words. It's a Black History song for preschoolers and up. ✪

Clap It Back - We also get into a music activity for kids about the traditional African-American food, cornbread, during our rhythm, game segment. This game promotes rhythmic awareness and provides a recipe you can cook with your children too! You can find the skillet cornbread recipe that inspired the music game here: Better than Jiffy

Echo Song - Our final echo song, Pedal On!, is about the great Black sports hero Major Taylor who was not only a cycling champion but is also remembered as a civil rights hero. ✪

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids!

Little Purple Wildflowers

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new EP from Noodle Loaf! In honor of MLK's birthday and Black History Month, Noodle Loaf has released an album of five Black History songs for kids. Each is an original echo song, available with and without the echo for maximum sing-along-ability. Check that out on your choice of music platform after you listen to this hot and fresh new podcast episode!

Echo Song - "Oh Let Us Sing of Dr. King" is a celebration of Dr. King's dream of equality, and is one of the five Black History songs for kids on our newest EP. Kids can practice pitch matching, and reflect on Dr. King's message of love. ✪

KaraYOUke - Nothing goes with melodic and verbal improvisation like an ABC phonics song for kids! Improvise the words to a song using words that start with the alphabet letters: ABCDE. Learn the alphabet and improvisational songwriting at the same time. ✪

Time To Move - a creative movement song, which also gives space for mindfulness with a guided meditation for kids through nature imagery ✪

Sounds Like Thunder

Monday Soup, Tuesday Soup, Wednesday Soup, Thursday Soup, Friday Soup, Saturday Soup, Sunday...Nachos!
Yes, finally a days of the week song for kids that is about soup. Because who said music activities for kids can't be about soup? Not me.

Time To Move - We begin the show with a movement game for children that promotes steady beat awareness and the dance concept of weight. It also promotes goofiness and giggles. ✪

Echo Song - When Will the Rain Stop? - This episode's repeat after me song is a social emotional learning song about acknowledging why you're sad and figuring out what your options are when feeling those feelings. There may be a metaphor in there, we're not sure. What we do know is that rain always stops eventually and that a singalong song for children is a great way to pass the time while you wait ✪

Days of the Week Song - Monday Soup - This music game for kids has more hearty ingredients in it than a chunky minestrone. Not only will your kids learn the days of the week but they will also do some pitch matching and develop their sense of rhythm while they're at it. They may also scream "NACHOS!" ✪

All of our fun music and games are good for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson you can eat on the way to school. And a whole lot less messy than soup.

Sustainable Beats

You don't get to clean up if you don't make a mess.  So go make a mess and then sing along with our clean up song for kids.  That's an order! PLUS we'll use our ears to name mystery sounds and use our mouths to make rhymes.  It's a full face work out for families you don't want to miss.

Name That Sound - First up, a listening activity for kids about writing. Listening about writing...is that like dancing about architecture? I dunno, but I do know that it is a great way to develop aural awareness in kids. ✪

Echo Song - Cleaning So Clean - Our repeat after me song about clean up time will you have you and your kids whistling all the way to the dust bank. That doesn't make sense. Anyhow, it will make cleaning more fun. And it will also develop a sense of pitch in children, and whimsy too. ✪

Rhyme Time - A rhyming game for kids set to a funky beat! Not only will children develop their phonological awareness without having to learn the word phonological, but they may also learn to rap. This rhyme game is a favorite of parents probably because they get to show off all the big words they know. ✪

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! It's like a music lesson for your commute to school.

Going With The Flow

A bit of a theme going on in this one.  Who improvises?  Who does not?  What does improvise mean? What does amprovise mean?  As far as I know, it does not mean anything. Nonetheless this episode is fun and educational and fun and introduces the concept of improvisation to children.

This Clap It Back rhythm game is two lessons in one and a whole lot of fun. Children will gain rhythmic awareness and learn the sections of the orchestra, namely woodwinds, percussion, brass and strings. Plus we rhyme "piccolos" with "cover holes." ✪

This episode’s Echo Song called Improvise has special guest appearances by podcasters Alex Goldman of Reply All, Mick Sullivan of the Past and the Curious, Pamela Rogers of Buttons and Figs and Nosaj from the rap group New Kingdom. The song teaches the definition of "Improvising" in the musical sense and in the sense of going with the flow when life throws you curveballs. It's a song about resilience and having a good attitude for kids and the grown ups who love them even when they spill all of the snacks all of the time. ✪

Story Song - My Mother is a Baby - This is a song tale about a mother who is a baby, not a metaphorical baby, but an actual baby. It's a silly song for kids that's a little bit Elvis, a little bit Shel Silverstein and a whole lotta fun. ✪

You get to play this mad libs for kids in real time. I like to play this on long car rides where each person in the car takes turning filling in the blank. This You Make The Story is about cooking poorly. ✪

Funky Shades

Sure, I could use this space here to explain photosynthesis but wouldn't you rather learn about it via clapping? I would. And so would your child. Which is why this episode has a song explaining photosynthesis. And plenty of other educational music for kids too!

Time To Move - Loud is Big, Soft is Small - We kick things off with a creative movement song about musical dynamics. Big and small. Loud and Soft. Silly and fun! ✪

Clap It Back - Leaves - A song about photosynthesis! A rhythm game about life science! A podcast for kids that has it all! ✪

Echo Song - That Spells Friend - A repeat after me song about friendship that not only helps kids identify what a friend is but helps them spell it too. It's a social emotional learning (SEL) song that's both tasty and healthy. ✪

Juggling Tambourines

This episode contains gratuitous goofiness and clandestine education. If you're not careful you may find yourself giggling and learning in equal measure. Proceed with caution. Fun children's song that parents will love too lie within. You've been warned.

Echo Song - Muuuuuud - We kick things off with a song about nature that encourages messy play and saying the word "mud" in a funny voice. Recommended for fans of Waldorf schooling and Waldorf salads. ✪

Story Song - Leg Bone - From the archives of legendary kids musician Old Blind Loafy Noodles comes this funny story song. It is not an authoratative song about the human body but it is a silly song for kids that might teach children about song form. ✪

Time To Move - Go Bananas - Preschoolers have long loved this action song, but now with a funky groove it is perfect for early elementary age kids too. The music game encourages kids to make up their own dances so make sure all drinks are secured. ✪

KaraYOUke - A songwriting lesson for kids wearing a karaoke robe. We provide the music and the vocab, you provide the melody and the lyrics. This music game develops melodic and verbal improvisational skills and may turn your child into the next Dolly Parton. ✪

We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids! Making music making friends!

Olive Fun

Music can be used to learn things besides music.  Or so I've been told. Today we test that hypothesis to see if the kids in our midst can retain essential general trivia like the fact that Michael Bolton's birth name was Michael Bolotin.  This could be a breakthrough in kids podcast technology.

Time To Move - Be a butterfly! Be a rug! Be filled with jelly! This brain break style movement activity for kids will not only get your wiggles out, it will put them back in again too. Because you’re gonna need wiggles where we’re going. ✪

Singing Slide - This vocal warmup game for kids is brought to you by slide whistles. Echo the sound the slide whistle makes to warm up your voice before singing the next song. ✪

Echo Song - I Love Fun - This echo song AKA repeat after me song is a fine piece of children’s music. So fine. So fun. It’s about how things are made and how things that are made can facilitate fun. That explanation doesn’t make it sound fun, but it is. Trust. ✪

Clap Facts - Trivia and Clap It Back combine to create Clap Facts, a general knowledge game for children where they clap back statements that are true and freeze after statements that are false. Lava is basically melted rocks: clap it. Dinosaurs lived on Earth with humans: no claps ✪

All these children’s songs and games are great for elementary age kids and younger. Take this kids podcast on the go in your car, airplane and/or dirigible.

Peck of Pumpkin Poodle

A little extra noodle in our loaf this go round to keep your family singing, rhyming, jamming and goofin’.

Clap it Back - We begin with a rhythm song for kids called Weird Picnic. This clapping game develops rhythmic awareness in children and has some fun with the very strange eating scenarios families have been experiencing recently. ✪

Rhyme Time - This rhyming game will grow a phonological wunderkind right in your home. It’s a children’s music activity that parents love too. ✪

Echo Song - Summer Is Hot - This kids song about summer celebrates sun with singing. Repeat after me styler songs are a great way to help kids learn musical pitch, rhythm and singing confidence. ✪

Kids Talking About Stuff - Kids have a candid discussion about skin color. Can it be it was all so simple then? ✪

Finish The Pattern - This music game develops pattern recognition and promotes the art of making music with your mouth be it for beatboxing or voice foley ✪

Jam Along - We end the show with a jam session. Break out your improvisational drumming chops and play along with this kid-friendly funky groove. ✪
