Going With The Flow
A bit of a theme going on in this one. Who improvises? Who does not? What does improvise mean? What does amprovise mean? As far as I know, it does not mean anything. Nonetheless this episode is fun and educational and fun and introduces the concept of improvisation to children.
This Clap It Back rhythm game is two lessons in one and a whole lot of fun. Children will gain rhythmic awareness and learn the sections of the orchestra, namely woodwinds, percussion, brass and strings. Plus we rhyme "piccolos" with "cover holes." ✪
This episode’s Echo Song called Improvise has special guest appearances by podcasters Alex Goldman of Reply All, Mick Sullivan of the Past and the Curious, Pamela Rogers of Buttons and Figs and Nosaj from the rap group New Kingdom. The song teaches the definition of "Improvising" in the musical sense and in the sense of going with the flow when life throws you curveballs. It's a song about resilience and having a good attitude for kids and the grown ups who love them even when they spill all of the snacks all of the time. ✪
Story Song - My Mother is a Baby - This is a song tale about a mother who is a baby, not a metaphorical baby, but an actual baby. It's a silly song for kids that's a little bit Elvis, a little bit Shel Silverstein and a whole lotta fun. ✪
You get to play this mad libs for kids in real time. I like to play this on long car rides where each person in the car takes turning filling in the blank. This You Make The Story is about cooking poorly. ✪
