Gather up your toddlers, kindergarteners, elementary aged children and forever young grown ups for some singing, moving and good old fashioned trivia for kids. We continue our Black History celebration on this episode with music and movement, a call and response song; one of many black history songs for kids we'll enjoy this month, and of course, giggles.
Echo song - we'll sing about Dr. Mae Jemison in ""First Black Woman in Space"", an echo song for kids focused on pitch matching ✪
Time to Move - a creative movement activity practicing flow and weight, age appropriate for all kids. ✪
Trivia - Next up is Black History trivia for children where listeners must guess whether the stated object was a Motown Group or made by a Black Inventor. Great for general knowledge, and as always, music appreciation for kids. ✪

Pedal On!
We continue celebrating Black History Month on our kids podcast by channeling the great tradition of Civil Rights songs, with a song about James Baldwin for kids and a song about the Black sports hero Major Taylor. Hooray for fun music for kids about inspiring Black figures! Both of these songs appear on our new Black History EP called "Oh Let Us Sing!" which features five children’s songs about five inspiring historical Black figures.
Playground Game - The episode begins with the classic playground sing along song for kids, Pizza Pizza Daddy-O. We do our own spin on this creative movement game for our kids podcast but you're encouraged to search online for the old school version. ✪
Echo Song - Then we help children develop pitch and singing confidence with our original echo song, one of a few of our Black History songs for kids, James Baldwin Used His Words. It's a Black History song for preschoolers and up. ✪
Clap It Back - We also get into a music activity for kids about the traditional African-American food, cornbread, during our rhythm, game segment. This game promotes rhythmic awareness and provides a recipe you can cook with your children too! You can find the skillet cornbread recipe that inspired the music game here: Better than Jiffy ✪
Echo Song - Our final echo song, Pedal On!, is about the great Black sports hero Major Taylor who was not only a cycling champion but is also remembered as a civil rights hero. ✪
We hope you enjoy our music and games for preschoolers, kindergarteners and early elementary age kids!

Little Purple Wildflowers
It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new EP from Noodle Loaf! In honor of MLK's birthday and Black History Month, Noodle Loaf has released an album of five Black History songs for kids. Each is an original echo song, available with and without the echo for maximum sing-along-ability. Check that out on your choice of music platform after you listen to this hot and fresh new podcast episode!
Echo Song - "Oh Let Us Sing of Dr. King" is a celebration of Dr. King's dream of equality, and is one of the five Black History songs for kids on our newest EP. Kids can practice pitch matching, and reflect on Dr. King's message of love. ✪
KaraYOUke - Nothing goes with melodic and verbal improvisation like an ABC phonics song for kids! Improvise the words to a song using words that start with the alphabet letters: ABCDE. Learn the alphabet and improvisational songwriting at the same time. ✪
Time To Move - a creative movement song, which also gives space for mindfulness with a guided meditation for kids through nature imagery ✪

Our celebration of Black History Month continues with a joyful Gospel song called "Glory Glory," shared with us by Eli "Paperboy" Reed. And as if that wasn't enough we've got rhyming games and a fill-in-the-blank story about why we get upset and what to do when we're feeling that way.

In which we have fun with rhymes, do an action song about winter time bundling/unbundling and pay tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. the best way we know how, by singing.
